Some history about us!
Just how we came to be!
A group of 22 funloving bike riders met in early November of 2005 to establish a GoldWing chapter in the North West Alabama area.We pondered an appropriate name for our GWRRA organization.Located among the BCDA Lakes and Recreational Opportunities of North Al and given the option of alphabetic letters from which to choose and the fact that our Chapter Directors are Mark and Vicky Swindle,it seemed appropriate that Chapter S was our intended title. We became known as Cedar Creek Wings Chapter S,Russellville Al.
Our first meeting took place at Jonathans Steak House on U S Hwy 43 in Russellville.After some of the more experienced riders and leaders appointed a newly qualified staff to assist with the organizing of our new chapter,we were excited to begin.Chapter S has experienced a number of rides to several different states and beautiful locations.An example of one of two overnight trips to Grand Rivers,Ky,The Land Between The Lakes,we had 42 people and 27 bikes.Divided into smaller groups we had a wonderful experience,a safe ride,and lots of memories to cherish.The food at the Iron Kettle was absolutly delicious!Many of us returned for a second visit just for the frog legs!
Chapter S consists of many fine Christian people from various walks of life.Just to mention a few of us down to earth ,professional and full of humor members,we have a Mayor,Police Chief,Captain of Law Enforcement Several members own their own companies,some sell bikes,others work on bikes,then there are those who can't even ride a bike(just kidding)!We have members in the field of medicine ,technology and transportation.Some of our retired members are available to assist with planning and mapping out the best route for a trip. Each member has his or her own unique way of contributing to make Cedar Creek Wings an enjoyable chapter in which we promote friendship,knowledge and safety.
Chapter S has grown and expanded to the degree that we are searching for a location large enough to accomodate our members for annual meetings.We welcome you to come and visit us in Russellville,Al!May God bless you!
