Wing Ding is going Downtown!
Next July, Gold Wings will take over downtown Des Moines, Iowa as Wing Ding makes not only its first appearance in the Hawkeye State but its first appearance in a downtown setting along the riverbanks of the Des Moines River!
Wing Ding 32 is scheduled for June 30 - July 3, 2010 at the Iowa Events Center. For your convenience, show dates have been changed to Wednesday through Saturday to allow more weekend travel time! Registrations are already rolling in at a record-breaking pace and we expect a great turnout as we prepare to 'Meet in the Middle'!

The Iowa Events Center features four facilities and endless possibilities under one roof. You will be able to browse the many vendors located in Hy-Vee Hall and Halls B&C of Veterans Memorial Coliseum - almost 150,000 square feet of exhibit space! You can take a load off or get a bite to eat in Hall A of the Veterans Memorial Auditorium where the food court along with a stage for live entertainment will be setup throughout the event! The one-hour rides on the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad feature all kinds of wildlife, including deer, bald eagles and turkeys. The railroad museum offers excursion train rides, dessert, picnic and dinner train rides.
Visit an international tourist attraction at Fort Des Moines Museum and Education Center. The museum is located where the U.S. Army's first officer candidate class for African American men in 1917, and the establishment of the first Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC's) in 1942 were trained.
Historical interpreters dressed in period clothing recreate the history and lifestyles of four time periods at Living History Farms, a 500-acre, outdoor museum. Visit the 1700 Ioway Indians, the 1850 pioneers, townspeople of 1875 and the 1900 farmers. The story of 20th century agriculture is also explored through an exhibit of crops, displays and interactive activities. The collection of antique farm equipment is a favorite.
Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing, a casino with 1,900 slot machines and table games and an events and conference center with performances from big-name acts throughout the year makes Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino Iowa's favorite place to play!
Reiman Gardens, one of the largest public gardens in Iowa, offers 14 acres of living beauty. See exotic butterflies flying in their own wing, indoor tropical gardens and a gift shop. Next summer will feature an 'All About Garden Ornaments' exhibit with 400 square feet of flamingo's and the world's largest gnome. Local artists will also create 3' - 10' tall gnomes that will be featured throughout the garden.
